Life got busy!

Whew! Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Life got busy! We recently became homeowners - which is equally thrilling and overwhelming.

The past two weeks have really put our "socially and environmentally responsible" lifestyle to the test. I can't say that we have done all that well. I've been alternating between feeling completely overwhelmed by the amount of stuff we own to fighting the urge to go and buy more - nothing like a new house to make you want all sorts of fancy new furnishings and gadgets. And when life is busy its so much easier to just go buy something than to make it yourself or try to find it used.

Fortunately we are finally semi-settled into our new home and the pace of things is slowing down a bit. We are getting to know our new community, meeting our neighbors, and making some new friends. I even managed to get a few vegetable starts in the ground, which somehow makes me feel much more settled.

This month begins the madness of making jam and various other summer preserves and lots and lots of garden work, so I'll try and get some more posts up soon. Thanks for still reading!
